Why I Joined
Global Studies
Since I came to Watkinson, I have been interested in the Global Studies program. And I decided to join because I wanted to understand how different cultures, economies, and political systems connect in our world. Also, my dad is an immigrant from Ethiopia, so growing up, I think it gave me a unique perspective on cultural differences, immigration, and global inequality.
Extracurricular
Outside of school, sports consume most of my time. I have played many different sports my entire life, and here at Watkinson, I am a three-sport varsity athlete, competing in soccer, basketball, and track. I am also a captain of the soccer team. Soccer is my favorite and primary sport, and I have played it outside of school at the travel and club level since I was very young. I have always loved not only playing sports, but also being part of a team, because I think being on a team teaches you so many valuable lessons and builds such great friendships.
